I remain naked in a bathtub, my bodycovered with red lipstick. On a table I have placed articles of personal hygiene: different types of soap, sponges, brushes and raincoats. I invite the audience to bathe me and clean the red of my body. The pigment adheres to the skin making the cleaning complicated and messy, the participant has to carve my back -irritating it- to erase the lipstick. At the end of the bath my body remains red, on one hand due to the indelible properties of the material and on the other because of the irritation.
Remanencia (Remanence), seeks to show that the damage (the marks) produced by the violent system we inhabit, which keeps us vulnerable and in precariousness, can not disappear, it is indelible. To hide the damage is to diminish the problem; this action generates an even deeper deterioration, contributing to the normalization and feeding a violent system.
